Celebration of Student Writing
The Celebration of Student Writing will be held on
To receive credit for doing your final you MUST attend the CSW for the entire 2 hours.

CELEBRATION OF STUDENT WRITING: MAY 6TH (11:30am-1:00pm)

If you have another class during this time frame you need to talk to your professor ahead of time to receive permission to attend the event. If your professor does not grant you permission have s/he email me and/or include me in the email (you can CC me) so I have documentation. This must all be COMPLETED one full week BEFORE the Celebration. This is the ONLY way a student will be allowed to miss the Celebration.

Being scheduled to work is not a legitimate excuse- Plan ahead.

STUDENTS WHO DO NOT ATTEND THE FULL CELEBRATION WILL RECEIVE ZERO POINTS FOR THE VISUAL PART OF THE PROJECT

DIGITAL PRESENTATION:
This project is a digital visual presentation of your research throughout the semester. It can be composed on Prezi, PowerPoint, or YouTube.
*If you have another digital format you’d like to request, email your instructor prior to the due date for permission.
You will need to plan to present this digital project at the Celebration of Student Writing so you have all semester to research the library’s policy on renting iPads and Laptops if you do not have access to your own

A few things your digital presentation should do:
*Define key terms from WA1
*Discuss/introduce your community
*Display research questions
*Present your Thesis Statement/Argument (this is YOUR answer to the main Research Question I gave you)
*Discuss your Code of Ethics
*Describe your community's people, place, and artifacts
*Discuss Literacy and how it functions for your community (give examples!)
*Discuss Literacy Practices and Events and give examples of them
*Give examples of your community's ideology and ideological literacies
*Include Works Cited info for your eight sources
*5 artifacts (2 physical) with explanations of how they connect to a literacy for your site

PORTFOLIO:
Fieldwork Portfolio (7%)
You will bring your Fieldwork Portfolio to class on presentation day and have it with you at the CSW. This Portfolio will consist of:
*Notes from at least THREE field visits (this will NOT be your response papers or WA4, these are authentic field notes; they may be handwritten)
*A script of at least three interviews (these must be typed)
*Your signed permission form from the person "in charge" (director, coach, manager, organizer, etc.)
*Signed consent forms from each participant you interact with (especially those you interviewed)
*A new printed copy of your annotated bibliography (by "new" I mean NOT the copy that has your grade and any of my comments on it)
*Literacy Practices and Events Page (can be downloaded from "1302 Class Home" -file name Quiz 4)
*A new printed copy of your research questions
*Any other material you gather from your field work and research

ARTIFACTS:
You will need to have 5 artifacts from your site for your CSW presentation. You will need to physically bring at least 2 of these artifacts (unless you have spoken with me, explained why you can't, and I have approved). You will/may present the other artifacts through photos in your digital presentation. If you can't get authentic photos of these artifacts you will need to creatively compromise. Through your presentation you should have descriptions of how each artifact acts as a type of literacy for your community. This is required.

**You do not HAVE to have your final paper with you at the CSW (you can if you'd like). However, it will be due only a few hours afterwards, so it would be wise to have it completed before the CSW
